Welcome to my stained glass suncatcher workshop!
Course Overview: In this fun and hands-on 3-hour weekend class, you’ll get to explore the vibrant world of stained glass as we guide you through the process of creating your very own custom suncatcher. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience with glass art, this class is designed to be enjoyable and accessible for everyone. Together, we’ll work on crafting a beautiful piece of art that will catch the light and add a touch of color to any window!
What You’ll Learn:
- Introduction to Stained Glass: Get familiar with the tools and materials, including glass sheets, copper foil, soldering irons, and more.
- Designing Your Suncatcher: You’ll start by selecting or designing your suncatcher shape. Choose from a variety of templates (or create your own design) – whether it’s a playful flower, a whimsical butterfly, or a geometric pattern.
- Cutting the Glass: Learn the basic techniques for scoring and cutting glass safely and efficiently to bring your design to life.
- Soldering & Assembly: We’ll teach you how to use copper foil and solder to piece your design together and make it strong, durable, and beautiful.
- Finishing Touches: Once your suncatcher is assembled, we’ll go over cleaning and polishing so it shines brightly when the sunlight hits it!
